Debangshu's Golden Arm and Blazing 85 Power Rising Star II Past Royal Fighter at Eco Park Helipad

They call him the man with the golden arm, but at Eco Park Helipad it was Debangshu’s bat that turned the fate of Rising Star II in this ROYALS FREEDOM CUP league match. His 85 off just 28 balls, laced with eleven sixes, blew Royal Fighter’s bowling apart and built a total that always looked out of reach — and when the ball was needed in his hand too, he came back to pick up 2/28 and seal the win. Rising Star II posted 165/4 in 10 overs and, despite a late flourish from Royal Fighter, held on to win by 18 runs, with Debangshu’s complete all-round performance the difference between the two sides.

Md Zafar Alam Sets the Platform, Then Debangshu Takes Over

After Ranjit Kumar fell for 2 in the very first over, Md Zafar Alam counter-attacked superbly, striking five sixes in a 17-ball 41 (SR 241.18) to give Rising Star II real momentum. But it was what came next that decided the match. Debangshu walked in at No. 3 and simply took the game away from Royal Fighter — 85 off 28 balls, two fours and eleven sixes, a strike rate of 303.57. Rarely has a Royal Cup innings been dismantled so completely by one batter; Debangshu and Md Zafar Alam added 115 runs for the second wicket alone, and by the time Debangshu was finally caught off Vivek Baluni in the ninth over, Rising Star II were already sitting at 150. Tanmay Karmakar (12* off 7) and Ghanshyam (12 off 6) added late impetus as the innings closed on 165/4.

Eleven sixes in a 28-ball innings. Debangshu didn’t just build the total — he redefined what a par score looked like on this ground.

Royal Fighter's Reply Never Quite Gets There

Chasing 166, Royal Fighter lost early wickets to Debangshu and Masud Rana, with Deepak Bhosale (24 off 14) the only batter to get a start inside the first five overs before Rising Star II tightened their grip. Kuldeep Mishra, the Royal Fighter captain, produced a stunning cameo of his own — 16 off just 4 balls, two sixes, a strike rate of 400.00 — but was caught and bowled by Md Zafar Alam almost as soon as he had arrived. Aditya Kaushal (21 off 8, 3 sixes) and Satendra singh (22 off 9, 3 sixes) kept Royal Fighter within touching distance through the middle overs, and Sahil Bhagat’s unbeaten 18 off 5 at the death made the finish look closer than the game had actually been. Royal Fighter finished on 147/7, 18 runs short.

Debangshu Comes Back to Seal It With the Ball

Having already done the bulk of the damage with the bat, Debangshu returned to bowl and struck twice — removing Deepak Bhosale early and then Aditya Kaushal in the middle overs, finishing with 2/28 from 2 overs. It was the all-round contribution that made his Player of the Match award a formality: a match-defining century-adjacent innings backed up by two crucial wickets when Royal Fighter were threatening to make a real fight of the chase. Masud Rana (1/17, economy 8.50) was the most economical of the Rising Star II bowlers, while Ghanshyam and Md Zafar Alam chipped in with a wicket apiece to close out the win.

Bat first, then ball — Debangshu's all-round afternoon at Eco Park Helipad had an answer for every phase of the game.
