Calcutta Challengers beat MFSC (Fortuners) by 21 runs, defending 167/9 in 13 overs after restricting MFSC to 146/6. CC's innings was rescued from an early wobble by Raju Akter's late surge and Sauvik Chaudhury's all-round contribution, but the match was ultimately settled by Golam Masud, who backed up an unbeaten cameo with the bat with a magnificent 5-wicket haul to earn Man of the Match honours. MFSC's chase was built on fine fifties from Sameer Pathak and Sandip Kumar, but it wasn't enough in the end.

Raju Akter & Sauvik Chaudhury Rescue CC From a Middle-Order Collapse

Calcutta Challengers were in real trouble at 77/7 after just over seven overs, with Prosen Sarkar, Dev Baidya and Sandip Kumar sharing the wickets and the top and middle order failing to fire — only Miraj (35 off 14, four sixes) had made any real impact. That's when Raju Akter and Sauvik Chaudhury combined for a crucial 64-run stand. Raju Akter played the finishing innings CC needed, smashing 42 off just 16 balls (two fours, four sixes, strike rate 262.50), while Sauvik Chaudhury played a genuine all-round match — a rapid 30 off 16 (three fours, two sixes, SR 187.50) followed later by an important wicket with the ball. Together they dragged CC from the brink of a small total to a defendable 167/9.

77/7 to 167/9. Raju Akter and Sauvik Chaudhury's stand didn't just rescue the innings — it turned a total Calcutta Challengers might have struggled to defend into one that ultimately proved enough.

Sameer Pathak & Sandip Kumar Fight Hard for MFSC

Chasing 168, MFSC lost Subhajit without scoring in the first over, but Sameer Pathak and Sandip Kumar responded with a superb 117-run stand for the second wicket that kept MFSC firmly in the contest. Sameer Pathak was outstanding, striking 62 off just 27 balls with seven sixes at a strike rate of 229.63, while Sandip Kumar matched him with a composed 50 off 30 (five sixes, SR 166.67). Between them they took MFSC to 118/2 and had turned what looked like a comfortable defence into a genuine contest.

Golam Masud's Five-Wicket Haul Seals It

With MFSC cruising, Golam Masud produced a spell that turned the match on its head. He removed Sameer Pathak and Sandip Kumar in the space of a few balls, and by the time his three overs were done he had figures of 5/20 — also accounting for Subhajit, Soumen Majumder and Toxic. It was a remarkable, complete bowling performance that dismantled MFSC's chase just as it threatened to run away, and combined with his brisk unbeaten 14 off 5 with the bat earlier in the innings, it made him the clear choice for Man of the Match. Goutam (11* off 8) fought to the end, but MFSC could only reach 146/6, falling 21 runs short.

Five wickets in three overs, right after the opposition had just put on 117 for the second wicket. Golam Masud's spell is the reason a chase that looked home and hosed ended up 21 runs short.
