Calcutta Challengers piled up 205/5 in their 13 overs and held off Bihar 11, who finished on 198/6 in their 13 overs, to win by 7 runs. Tanmay Karmakar was the match-winner with an unbeaten 79 off 23 balls and nine sixes, earning the Man of the Match award. Debangshu added 54 off 28 and a wicket, and captain Ashutosh Maurya struck 19 off 10 to get the innings moving before taking a wicket and a catch. Bihar 11 pushed them all the way, with Vivek Kr Singh and Sachin Pradhan both making 54.

Tanmay Karmakar's 79* Off 23 Wins the Match

Tanmay Karmakar walked in at 46/1 in the 4th over and stayed to the end. He hit four fours and nine sixes for 79 not out off 23 balls, a strike rate of 343.48. He added 35 with Golam Masud for the fifth wicket and then an unbroken 51 with Sovandeep Biswas as Calcutta Challengers went from 154/5 to 205/5 in the last 1.4 overs.

Debangshu and Ashutosh Maurya Set the Platform

Captain Ashutosh Maurya and Debangshu opened with a stand of 46. Ashutosh made 19 off 10 (two fours and a six) before he was caught by sub fielder Surajit Mondal off Sandeep Kumar at 3.5 overs. Debangshu then took over, striking 54 off 28 with five fours and four sixes at a strike rate of 192.86, until he was caught by Dharam Raj off MILON(Swapan) at 87/2 in the 8th over.

The middle order kept the pace up. Golok Bera hit 17 off 6 (a four and two sixes) and Golam Masud made 19 off 7 with a four and two sixes. Mohabbat took 2/39 for Bihar 11, removing Golam Masud and Paul Zomi (1 off 3), both caught by Ankiit Rider. The innings contained 12 extras, including 11 wides, and MILON(Swapan) went for 61 in three overs.

Sachin Pradhan and Vivek Kr Singh Make Bihar 11 Dangerous

Chasing 206, Bihar 11 were 77/5 in 6.5 overs after Sachi (19 off 6) fell early to a return catch by Sovandeep Biswas and Ankiit Rider (17 off 10) was bowled by Samrat. Sachin Pradhan hit 54 off 28 (two fours and five sixes) and added 56 with Vivek Kr Singh before he was caught by Tanmay Karmakar off Ashutosh Maurya at 133/6 in the 11th over.

That brought Monojit Dey to the crease, and he and Vivek Kr Singh put on an unbroken 65 in the last 2.5 overs. Vivek finished 54 not out off 18 balls with seven sixes (strike rate 300.00) and Monojit made 20 not out off 7 with five fours, but Bihar 11 ended 7 runs short on 198/6. Calcutta Challengers also helped them along with 17 extras, including 7 no-balls.

Samrat, Debangshu and the Bowling Group

Samrat was the most economical bowler with 2/18 in 2 overs (economy 9.00), removing Ankiit Rider and Mohabbat. Debangshu took the wicket of Dharam Raj in a one-over spell costing 10, and Vishal Jaiswal (1/52), Sovandeep Biswas (1/25) and Ashutosh Maurya (1/23) also picked up a wicket each. Tanmay Karmakar held two catches, dismissing Hritik Singh and Sachin Pradhan from the field.

Looking Ahead

Tanmay Karmakar's unbeaten 79 off 23, Debangshu's 54 and a quick start from Ashutosh Maurya took Calcutta Challengers to 205/5, and the bowlers just about held on. Bihar 11 can take heart from Vivek Kr Singh's 54* and Sachin Pradhan's 54, a chase that finished only 7 runs short.
