Shapoorji Orcas survived a heart-stopping finish to beat Ak Mavericks by 1 wicket at Eco Park Helipad, chasing down a stiff target of 152 with the very last recognised batsman still at the crease. Ak Mavericks had posted 151/7 from their 10 overs, and Shapoorji Orcas got there in the same number of overs, finishing on 153/9 in a chase that went right down to the wire.

Biswajeet Dey gave the chase the momentum it needed at a crucial stage, coming to the crease with Shapoorji Orcas still finding their feet and playing a superb innings of 39 off just 17 balls, with five sixes, before holing out off his own bowling to Rajneesh. It was the innings that kept Shapoorji Orcas ahead of the required rate through the middle overs, and combined with the platform it gave the batters who followed, it made Biswajeet Dey the Man of the Match.

But it was what happened at the very end that will be remembered longest. Instead, Anindya Hazra produced one of the great finishing overs, striking four sixes in the space of the final over to drag Shapoorji Orcas from the brink of defeat to a stunning win, finishing unbeaten on 30 off just 7 balls — one four and four sixes, at a strike rate of 428.57. It was a genuinely extraordinary finish, decided by nerve as much as by skill, with Towseef Ahmad War holding firm at the other end as last man in.

Before the dramatic finish, Prabal Hazra had also played a vital hand, striking 38 off just 13 balls (two fours, four sixes, strike rate 292.31) to keep Shapoorji Orcas in touch after early wickets.
