Anubhav Sharma's 101* Wins Man of the Match as Elite Eagles Chase 189 Without Losing a Wicket, Answering Sarbojit Roy Chowdhury's 109* for FC New Heroes

Elite Eagles chased down FC New Heroes' 188/6 without losing a wicket, finishing on 189/0 in 11.1 overs to win by 10 wickets. Captain Anubhav Sharma was named Man of the Match for an unbeaten 101 off 42 balls with fourteen sixes, and Tuhin Banerjee hit 73 not out off 28 at the other end. The chase was set up by a strong first innings, too: Sarbojit Roy Chowdhury had earlier made an unbeaten 109 off 46 for FC New Heroes, so the match produced two centuries and 45 sixes in all.
Sarbojit Roy Chowdhury's 109* Anchors FC New Heroes
FC New Heroes' innings began quietly: openers Ekta Chaudhary and Pragati Gupta both retired without scoring after the first over. Saem Nawaz then made 24 off 7 (three sixes) and, with Sarbojit Roy Chowdhury, took the score to 54 before Saem was run out by Raunak Tiwari and Tuhin Banerjee at 54/1 in the 4th over.
Sarbojit and Wasim Ashfaque kept the scoreboard moving, adding 75 for the second wicket. Wasim made 31 off 20 (a four and three sixes) before being caught by Tuhin Banerjee off Amit Sharma at 129/2 in the 10th over. Sarbojit finished 109 not out off 46 balls with one four and fourteen sixes, a strike rate of 236.96, which was 109 of the 188 runs his side scored.
Wickets then fell in a cluster: Shuvam Das (1) was run out by Raunak Tiwari at 139/3, Md Feroz Farid (1) was caught and bowled by Amit Sharma at 142/4, Sk Shahabuddin (3) was run out by Anubhav Sharma at 160/5, and Dibakar Rana was bowled by Tuhin Banerjee at 162/6. Captain Ajit Thakur stayed in at the end as the innings closed on 188/6 after 16 overs. Elite Eagles' bowlers conceded 19 extras, including 15 wides, and three of the six wickets were run outs.
Eagles' Bowlers Hold On Through the Middle Overs
Despite 20 sixes against them, the Elite Eagles attack found ways to take wickets. Tuhin Banerjee bowled four overs for 1/29 (economy 7.25) with 14 dot balls, the best economy rate of the four-over spells. Amit Sharma took 2/54 in four overs, and Priyanshi opened with a maiden, giving up no runs in the first over. Sudipta Roy (0/25 in 2) and Sayan Chowdhury (0/22 in 1) shared the remaining overs with captain Anubhav Sharma (0/56 in 4). Chasing 189, Elite Eagles lost no wicket. Shreeja Bhattacharjee and Priyanshi retired after the first over with the score at 1, and Tuhin Banerjee and Anubhav Sharma then batted through the rest of the chase together, an unbroken stand worth 188.
Anubhav Sharma hit 101 not out off 42 balls with two fours and fourteen sixes (strike rate 240.48), and Tuhin Banerjee struck 73 not out off 28 with eleven sixes (strike rate 260.71). Together they hit 25 sixes. The FC New Heroes bowlers also gave up 14 extras, with nine no-balls, in the 189 runs scored.
The FC New Heroes Attack
Against two batters in this form, the FC New Heroes bowlers had a hard evening, but there were some good passages. Pragati Gupta bowled one over for 1 run with five dot balls, and Shreedhar Mohata bowled three overs for 37 with eight dot balls. Captain Ajit Thakur bowled 3.1 overs for 39 and Md Feroz Farid two overs for 28, while Wasim Ashfaque conceded 24 in his one over. Swarnava Chakraborty had the hardest day with the ball: one over that cost 60 runs, including eight sixes and six no-balls, the most expensive over of the chase, which saw 25 sixes in 11.1 overs.
