Sachi and Surajit Mondal Take Bihar 11 Past 98/2
Chasing 153, Bihar 11 Tournament had a good start. Surajit Mondal hit 20 off 8 with three sixes before being caught by Raju Roy off Santanu Barua at 31/1 after 12 balls, and Sachi then added 67 for the second wicket with Vinaay Prabhakar (17 off 10, two sixes). The score reached 98/2 after 36 balls, with Bihar needing 55 from 14 balls. Sachi finished with 69 off 26 with two fours and nine sixes (strike rate 265.38).
Vishal's Three Wickets Turn the Chase
The match turned between the 36th and 46th balls. Vishal had Vinaay Prabhakar caught by wicketkeeper Partha Saha at 98/2 after 36 balls, then Udesh caught by Paul Zomi for 0 at 98/3, and later Snehanjan Das (1 off 2) caught by Partha Saha at 100/4 after 40 balls. Vishal finished with 3/17 in ten balls with five dots, the best figures of the match.
Sarif Ali then removed Sachi, caught by Paul Zomi at 112/5 after 44 balls, and Ankiit Rider (0 off 1), caught by Santanu Barua, at 112/6, and Masoom Ahmad was run out by New Town Sunny at 112/7 after 46 balls. Cyclone's Other Bowlers Keep It Tight
Paul Zomi bowled ten balls for 17 runs with three dots and took two catches, and Partha Saha conceded 31 in ten balls (four sixes) but took two catches behind the stumps. Santanu Barua took 1/17 in five balls and Saheb Khan gave away just 13 in five. The match produced 31 sixes in all, 16 in Cyclone's innings and 15 in Bihar's.
Looking Ahead
Darpan Bose's 76 off 26 earned him Man of the Match as Team Cyclone defended 152/6 by 27 runs. Bihar 11 Tournament can take plenty from Sachi's 69 off 26, the 67-run second-wicket stand with Vinaay Prabhakar and a bowling attack in which five of the six bowlers took a wicket, even though the collapse from 98/2 to 112/7 left them well short.
